The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain is one of the new Departments created out of the Department of Management Studies.The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management conducts research, develops and strengthens the marketing and supply chain management skills of students and practitioners through training, capacity building, mentoring, coaching and professional development. With a focus on consumers and delivering value, marketing is an exciting field of business that stimulates lateral thinking and creativity. Likewise, supply chain management has become increasingly significant as firms recognize the importance of aligning a firm's supply chain and production system with how the firm strategically competes in the global marketplace. Both areas of study is housed in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management.
The specialisation in marketing will provide students with the insight needed to identify marketing opportunities, develop appropriate strategies and implement them. Many students specializing in marketing are expected to have successful careers in the fields of advertising, sales management, business marketing, research, distribution, retail management, product planning, services, and international marketing. The specialization in supply chain management will prepare students for careers in the areas of sourcing, operations, and logistics. Graduates in supply chain management will have career choices as managers of purchasing, distribution, inventory, logistics, operations, quality, and supply chains. The supply chain management curriculum will also prepare graduates to sit for the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) examinations. The Department has a blend of faculty who studied in top class universities around the world. Furthermore, they research and publish extensively in various fields of marketing, procurement and supply chain management. Moreover, the Department works with adjunct professors from both local and international universities as well as industry experts. Our marketing and supply chain students will graduate with a portfolio of written projects, skills and knowledge that will enable them to compete in a dynamic business environment.
