Issues to be considered include human rights, social standards, conventions / guidelines, environmental impact assessment, supply chain, accountability, transparency, ethical accounting, consumerism, responsible investing and good corporate governance.
The research focuses on finding out the causes of poor customer care and relationship management in the hospitality industry. Issues of prime interest would be personal training and rewards in managing such facilities. The use of ICT in the management of customer relations are explored.
This research would focus on the setting up and management of enterprises with minimal negative impact on the global or local environment, community, society, or economy;a business that strives to meet the triple bottom line. The areas to concentration include energy; water sustainability, resource management, transportation, healthy work environment, communications; outreach as well as community stewardship, sustainable public procurement, sustainable consumption and production.
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) promotes the integration of environmental costs associated with products during their life cycle from initiation, production, distribution, consumption and disposal. Issues of interest includes product stewardship, managing waste, e-waste, financing waste, waste processing, product recovery and to minimize the environmental impact of waste materials, 4Rs (refurbish, re-use, recycle, re-manufacturing), take-backs, product packaging (plastic packs, take-backs), life cycle assessment, greening of supply chain etc.
A key threat to sustainable agricultural and food in SSA and Ghana is post-harvest losses. The focus of this topic would be to research into how to minimise such threat through the of marketing and supply chain activities. The research focuses on product packaging and labelling; product source tracking and product liability, value chain networks and transportation.
The purpose of the research area is to conduct studies into how Higher Educational Institutions could create image for themselves through the products they offer. This is reflected in their programmes, research output, internationalisation activities and consultancy services. Topics to be looked at include branding of universities, students’ satisfaction survey, service quality in tertiary institutions, internal marketing, customer care services, corporate communication, public perception, tracer studies, visibility through social media etc.
